Egypt has initiated an anti-dumping investigation into cold-rolled, galvanized, and color-coated steel coil products from China.

On October 29, 2024, the Egyptian Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade announced that, at the request of Egyptian enterprises, it would initiate an anti-dumping investigation into imported cold-rolled sheets, galvanized sheets, and color-coated sheets originating from or imported from Turkey and China. The period for this anti-dumping investigation is from July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024, and the injury investigation period is from January 1, 2021, to June 30, 2024.
The Egyptian tax numbers for the products involved are 720915, 720916, 720917, 720918, 720925, 720926, 720927, 720928, 720990, 721041, 721049, 721061, 721070, 721090, 721123, 721129, 721190, 721230, 721240, 721250, 721260, 722592, 722599, 722692, 722699.
Egypt has included three relatively independent categories, namely cold-rolled, galvanized, and color-coated products, in the same investigation, which is quite rare. According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs of China, during the period of the anti-dumping investigation, China exported a total of 364,000 tons of the involved products to Egypt, with an involved amount of approximately 366 million US dollars.
